The One Hundred Lunatics Podcast
Where horror lovers and horror haters come together for insights, insults, and information overload.
I love horror movies. My cousin hates them. Instead of ignoring him forever, I force him to watch a horror movie he thinks he hates and discuss it in depth. I mean, I really make him analyze it. Literally, every scene. I'm not happy until we've discussed everything from every angle and you better believe I have sweet clips at the ready.
Mostly, it's about finding the hilarious moments in disturbing movies. Friends of varying horror appreciation will often join in the fun for your listening pleasure. Secretly, though, it's about growing horror fans from spoiled earth and I'm out to plant my loving horror seed in each and every one of you.
Being a good horror movie doesn't always mean being a good movie. Popular rating systems don't take this into account. You end up rating a low-budget gore movie the same as a polished cinematic masterpiece. Rating it low doesn't really reflect how much fun you had watching it. The whole thing is an unacceptable ratings debacle with people killing themselves from frustration, probably. Fret not. No longer will your opinions be neutered. We made our own rating system that solves the good-bad movie problem for bad-good.
The Wheel
The Wheel
We spin a giant wheel possessed by a demon that randomly determines our movie selections. Sequels are a big part of the horror culture, so in alternating episodes The Wheel will choose an original film and then a sequel or remake of a franchise we've already begun. At first, Wilter (as The Wheel casually prefers), was pretty strict about his blood contract with us. We watch what he wants or we die. Now, he's willing to consider listener requests.
